When Rachel and David asked me to photograph their wedding I knew I was in for a treat. The fact is…it was so much sweeter and from the heart than I could have imagined. Their true love was just pasted on their outsides…for all of us to touch and feel. It was simply amazing!

The wedding and reception both took place in the Steyer Opera House at the Hotel Winneshiek in Decorah, Iowa. The ceremony itself was held on the stage. There were many things that made this such a special ceremony. First of all the pastor, Christine, was a class mate of David’s. Not only was she original, funny and sincere…she was also one of those special people that realized the wedding was not about her. Therefore, the couple was facing family and friends, as supposed to the traditional…backside view. A small thing, I know, but one of those details that made the whole thing special.

Here are some of the images from their wedding. Enjoy!

PHOTOVISION

Last weekend these sweet girls came out to my house and we did a bunch of fun shots. The weather was awesome…with a small exception of all the bugs that came out as we went down in the valley.

The girls had lots of different outfits and we had a great time. I think these turned out really cool!

Check out some of my favorites. Enjoy!

Just came across these images that I took a few years ago. It was before my blogging days, but I think they turned out so fun that I want to share them.

The location is Lake City. Boy did we have fun!

I have to admit I was actually a little scared when we were shooting on this old train. A looooong freight train came through, we were in the middle of a bunch of tracks and stayed there. The train blew the whistle, the ground shook and it was very uncomfortable being just one track away from such a massive machine. Needless to say, everything went well, but we were all just a little shaken afterward. However…would I do it again…most definitely!!!

Check out the images of this sweet girl! Enjoy

Love, love, love shooting seniors!!! I met Troy and his mom close to town where I had our first round of shots planned. They thought I meant something else, plus they had found this awesome old trailer full of stuff as well as all these old trucks and junk. Needless to say…my original plan changed. Gotta love old junk!

The weather was absolutely amazing and a slight overcast for most of the shots made this just sweet!

We jazzed up some of the shots with Troy’s guitar and later his skateboard. Love it when the images have a personal touch to show what the person is all about. Super cool!

Our time flew by fast, but I think we captured some fun images. Here are some of my favorites. Enjoy!

Earlier this summer I did a shoot for a wonderful couple, Becky and Josh. They had seen some work I had done for mutual friends of ours and decided to call me.

Not long ago they moved into this beautiful home on top of the bluffs.

We had a great time and they didn’t complain at all about the hot sticky weather. Thanks guys! Also thanks to my daughter, Maria, that came along to assist with lighting. You made this even funner girleo! She still talks about the delicious peach-tea that she got. I guess it was divine!

Here are some of my favorite shots. Enjoy!

Back in early June I did a shoot with a wonderful family. I had done Lucas’ senior portraits earlier and for his graduation celebration they would all be together and wanted to document this.

What a fun bunch!!!

Here are some of the shots from that day. Enjoy!
