Hope your Friday is as sweet as mine!

Four amazing (!) kids came to my house to have their pictures taken. Usually four kids is quite the job, but these guys were so easy to work with. Thanks so much kids!!!

All the leaves were gone, but the weather was still nice enough. The one thing that is nice that time of year is the light. I also love how the dry grass ads a cool feel to the images.

Here are some of my favorite images. Enjoy!

In the middle of winter…a little sign of spring shows up in our house…TULIPANER!

I will never claim to have a green thumb…both my grandmothers have at least two each!!! At my house…if they survive…I’m doing something right…if not…well…it wasn’t the right kind of plant for me!

In October or November…my mind can’t remember that far back…I planted a bunch of bulbs. I would look and look and look for buds, but nothing…for the longest time. Then during Christmas sometime they finally showed up! They have been millimetering up (NO inching here!) out of the pot. I’m sure the quality of dirt isn’t the best…as well as many other things, but HEY!!!…they’re growing!!! Jippi! It is a miracle every time a flower buds out. I finally have ONE that’s been showing us the miraculous wonders of the plant world.

As much as I am enjoying winter, now that we finally have some snow, I am excited already about spring…my very favorite time of year…that is just a few months away! I hope this brings you a little joy as well!

It was a blustery cool afternoon when we headed to Decorah (IA) to finally get the annual family photos done. There are so many cool backgrounds in that town and it makes it really fun to shoot. The only thing that was a little hard, was the fact that the wind was so cool that it was hard to get comfortable. The kids were troupers and we still got lots of fun shots. Thanks guys!

Grandma & Grandpa joined in for some of the shots. What sweet people! I see where Mom gets her good looks!

After the Christmas card was finished, Mom decided she wanted to do something different this year. Love the idea of a photo of the kids on an actual stamp!! GO MOM! Check out the very first image. Cool idea!

I have so many favorites…and here are some of them. Enjoy!

Matthew made a fire the size of a semi last night! We invited family and friends to come and join in the fun!

It’s a little hard to see how amazingly high the flames went, because it was so dark…no reference points. Check out the cool images I did catch.

We hope to repeat this again next year…hopefully with LOTS of snow around!

What beautiful girls!!! Thanks for inviting me to your home to photograph the little girls. What a treat!

Lauren posed away for me, while Kennedy just wanted to scoot on her butt. Thanks to mom and dad we were able to get the littlest princess to sit still a few times. Go teamwork!

Love the shots in the bedroom where big sister is reading to a, for a little moment, very interested little sister. Such sweet girls!

Here are some of my favorites. Enjoy!

Every now and then people drop off some old images hoping I can do something to restore them. I can honestly say it is a joy to work on someone’s old family photo. There are memories of great times, styles, funny hair, cool toys and sooo much more. I know that “way back” a photo was so much more important that it seems today. Not that it isn’t important to photograph our families today…not even close! It’s still VERY important. What has changed is that most often people took the time to do it right. Now, it seems like no one cares if people look at them or how they are sitting or standing. A quick blurry snapshot seems sufficient for many people. Because of price, perhaps, a photograph wasn’t just something that was randomly done here and there “back when”. It may also be the one thing you have to remember your family by.

There are so many things added together that makes this an enjoyable, although TEDIOUS, job. Bring it on people! I will carefully restore your fun memories captured by someone…a long time ago.

A few weeks ago we had such amazing fall weather. My sister-in-law and her family invited me to come to their house to do family pictures. We went out in their beautiful burr oak woods…picked some flowers…climbed their tree fort…and ended up on the basketball court…um ripstick court…no…skateboard…you get the picture!

Standing still was not an option, but I still think we got some fun stuff! Thanks for letting me follow you with my camera! Enjoy!

Here are the two ideas I came up with for a thank you card for Joachim.

Earlier this summer I did some photos for Lisa of her kids’ Converse. It turned out really fun and is now hanging in her entry way. I will get a shot of the actual work on her wall as well.

Thanks for giving me such a fun project Lisa!

Enjoy!
