It’s been busy lately! No posts since April. Gosh…not good. I like to update my blog with new stuff often, but I guess life just got in the way. For all the parents out there…you’ll know what I’m talking about.

Here are some graduation announcement cards I have worked on for some of my seniors. A lot of the cards have the same basic design, but are tweaked a little to fit each persons personality. One of my clients told me jokingly that she wanted to order all of them. Fun! I wish you guys all the best.

Enjoy! Feel free to comment.  : )

Last week Jill came over, brought her promdresses, shoes, make-up and jewelry. Of course we didn’t use half of it, but we would have had we just had another few days. Ha, ha…we had fun! I even got her to try on my wedding dress. Like a glove…that’s how it fit. I can’t even zip it up any longer, but I’m working on that. I did realize that having someone helping with make-up, clothes, lunch (!) and all that stuff would enable me to take lots more shots. We took our time and had fun.

Here are a few of my favorites. Enjoy!

A little while back I worked on a project where I had to produce a movie poster, featuring ME. Yikes! I really don’t like being in front of the camera, but hey, those where the rules. I fairly quickly pictured in my mind what I wanted on the poster.

One day after the kids came home from school I quickly put my dress on from my sisters wedding, my biker boots and at least two inches of make-up. My kids stared at me when I got out of the bathroom and started giggling at me. Don’t laugh I said, grab my tripod and get in the car.

We went down to the farm and I set up a few shots by an old car and a tractor. The whole time I had this old truck in mind and in the end it is what ended up working. The kids got busy chasing down the dog and so I lost my “photographers” right away. It is a little hard running back and forth to hit the timer and then compose yourself so I told the girls they had to take turns being my photographers. Stine just smiled and kept firing shot after shot. When it was Maria’s turn she got a small step stool, looked carefully through the viewfinder and made sure Mamma was ready. It was so cute. She’d actually tell me what looked good and what didn’t. Quite an eye there.

Well, after a ton of shots in not very much time I decided on this one. When I sat down to make it into a poster I remembered the highway picture and the airplane shots I had as well and it quickly became a collage. Let me know what you think.  ; )

Here is another poster. Again, I had the image in my mind. Shot the dice and Maria was again appointed photographer. She laughed as I made all these funny faces. It is amazingly hard to imagine what it looks like unless you’re behind the camera. I know that’s where I belong, but it is helpful knowing the feeling of how much good direction makes a difference. I think it turned out quite cool. Let me know what you think.

…is what we wish for you this Holiday Season.

I put together a beautiful Christmas card for Kenny with her words. On the front is a shot of her daughter that just looked, well, heavenly. After putting the card together she also asked me to make an 8×10 of the same shot, but to make it different, just for Libby. Here are some of my ideas.

The idea for the butterfly illustrations were taken from the actual designs on the bottom of Libby’s dress.

Here again, details from her dress.

Here is the Christmas card. A 7×5 folded, printet on watercolor paper.

Thanks for letting me photograph your beautiful family! My treat, for sure!  : )

Two years ago I had the pleasure of doing Jana’s older sister Brittany’s senior pictures. Then last year I did their cousin Nikki’s pictures. I knew I was in for a few hours of fun. Sure enough. Jana started out with her gorgeous bright yellow prom dress. She had all kinds of outfits lined up. Curly hair, straight hair, big dog, little dog, one cat, the moon (!), four pairs of shoes, a pole vault pole (that sounded funny), um’teen t-shirts, countless medals, trophies and ribbons we were done…or so I thought. Just one more outfit, Jana said. I had to laugh. This girl loves to get dressed up. She loves to fix her hair and she is sweet…just like Brittany and her mom. No offense guys, I just haven’t spent as much time with you. : ) I could have stayed all night visiting, they are a bunch of fun people!

Here are some of my favorites from that day. I kid you not. The last few we took outside I couldn’t even see her face.

Congratulations Tonje & Nikke! Your wedding was beautiful and so were you.

The weather was cold and rainy almost the whole time since we got here. The tent you ordered came almost two days late and things started to get hectic. Your wonderful staff and friends came to help put everything together. We had a great time and it turned out to be a fun three days. Friday was kicked off with a gathering of all the friends and family that came to stay here on the island. Freddan and Natalie ++ cooked up the most wonderful clam and fish soup. Mmmmmm!!! We all had a wonderful time. Nikke & Krille played guitar and sang and the atmosphere was great!

We all awoke Saturday morning to the most beautiful weather. Everyone were amazed. The ceremony was beautiful followed by baptism for little Tindra Synnøve. Krille was the sponsor and I was the godmother.

We left the church and took a few pictures. Then all the guests were instructed to “hurry” back to the farm for the dinner. Not many knew that Tonje and Nikke had arranged for a helicopter to come and pick them up and make a great entrance at the farm. There were three seats, plus the female pilot, and I got to come along. Thank you, thank you, thank you! It was an amazing, did I say AMAZING, trip. We flew to the farm, but not everyone had gotten there yet so we circled the island and got a breathtaking view of it. Then the whole party were waiting and waiving as we came in to land down in the lower part of the field. As the bride and groom got out of the helicopter all the kids came running down the hill to greet them. It was a spectacular sight. Just like a movie. My dad came with the fourwheeler and Nikke and Tonje with three little boys drove up to the tent. Everything was perfect! The food was absolutely wonderful. Grilled whole lamb and pig.

Tonje left with the computer I could add photos to my blog with. I will post pictures when I get back to Spring Grove.

Here are some of my favorites when Sarah & Scott got dressed up.

Walked by this Crane on my way to the studio. It did a slow dance while I snapped away. : )
