Late last fall this wonderful couple took me to the Science Building at Luther College for their engagement session. The building was just amazing! We had a fun time rearranging furniture and quietly walking through the library. Thanks for such a great place for your session!
Here are some of my favorites. Enjoy!
It was a blustery cool afternoon when we headed to Decorah (IA) to finally get the annual family photos done. There are so many cool backgrounds in that town and it makes it really fun to shoot. The only thing that was a little hard, was the fact that the wind was so cool that it was hard to get comfortable. The kids were troupers and we still got lots of fun shots. Thanks guys!
Grandma & Grandpa joined in for some of the shots. What sweet people! I see where Mom gets her good looks!
After the Christmas card was finished, Mom decided she wanted to do something different this year. Love the idea of a photo of the kids on an actual stamp!! GO MOM! Check out the very first image. Cool idea!
I have so many favorites…and here are some of them. Enjoy!
Back in March I drove some great back-roads by Lanesboro (Minnesota) to photograph some of the beautiful pottery created by Joel Sampson of COPPER CRANE POTTERY.
His studio has large windows that let all this wonderful light in. We even saw a deer, munching away on squash, right…and I mean RIGHT…outside his windows. Apparently it sleeps right up against the wall. What a fun sight!
Joel has some amazing work and I loved how he creatively added flowers to the vases to show the possibilities. Check out one of my favorites below; the sink with imprints of a child’s hands…how creative is that!!! Then there is the Jar Fountain (images 6, 7 & 8.) with the itty bitty flakes that look like gold. I had a hard time keeping my little Jakob away from that one when we saw it at a gallery. The request for “lift me up so I can see” went on and on and on…
The Japanese Lantern Fountain (last two images) was amazing to hear. Yes! HEAR. When Joel plugged in the simple fountain and the water was going it was the sound of RAIN. Just light and delightful.
Enjoy the images below and don’t forget to check out some more work on his website. The images below cover just some of his incredible work.
Christmas was crazy…but fun…
Sooooo…here I am again…behind schedule with lots of posts to do. I will try my best to catch up.
It was early December and the weather was icy cold. I got to meet this handsome prince and his sweet parents that just came in from a long trip from California. Just a few months old, Fletcher had amazing skin and so alert. After a little milk break he totally melted into a milk-coma before perking up and ready to play.
Thanks for bringing me your sweet baby! I really enjoyed meeting all three of you.
Here are some of my favorites…and no!…I’m not known for being able to cut too many images…so here goes… Enjoy!
A milk-break does the body good!
Finally! Here are more of my favorite shots of the little girl that really should have been named Michelina…you know…she has some very similar features to that Michelin dude! : ) Rolls in her rolls…oh yeah baby! She’s got them…everyone! An she is soooooo sweet…also for that reason…but mostly for the sweet smiles and curious looks.
Check it out!
What a wonderful couple…what a sweet baby! I had the great pleasure of hanging out with Tyler and his mom and dad earlier this month. Actually, Tyler was sleeping when I got there, but when he did wake up…awe…nothing but smiles! We had a fun time doing a few shots at their house. It was such a nice day and luckily both Kristi and Nick were up for a walk downtown. La Crosse (WI) has some beautiful old buildings and Nick told me about this cool park by the river. Thanks for being so much fun guys!
Here are some of my favorite images from the day. Enjoy!
Love the Klimt! A gift from Nick to Kristi. How sweet!
This is what Tyler looked like just minutes after he woke up. Amazing!
What a beautiful day for a walk on the bluffs of rural south-east Minnesota! This fun family went everywhere I asked. The boys wanted to do more exploring than posing, but once we found the apple trees they were very happy. It was wild how all the trees seemed to have different kinds of apples. The bright red ones were my amazing. Here are some of my favorites.
